Our extensive line of woven wood shades are handwoven in the USA from nature’s gems such as bamboo, wood, reed, bark, sea grass, and jute. These gorgeous, eco-friendly weaves gently filter light and can be lined with a light-filtering or blackout lining for optimal privacy and light control.

The Shade Shop carefully selects premium manufacturers that source rapidly renewable natural materials from local farmers and thoroughly inspect each product for quality, character, and design.

We proudly offer exclusive lines such as Hartmann&Forbes and Conrad, which sustainably source an expansive range of organic, modern weaves that are handloomed and woven-to-size using truly artisanal techniques. We also offer natural window treatments manufactured by Hunter Douglas, Walden, Manh Truc, and Horizons, among others, ensuring a selection of styles that is unmatched in Houston.

CUSTOM ROLLER & ROMAN SHADE STYLES

Our custom woven shades are custom-made in an array of Roman and roller styles. Woven Roman shade styles include Flat Roman – either Waterfall Style wherein the shade fabric falls gently off the front of the headrail, or Standard/Traditional Style, with a front-facing valence – or Classic/Cascade Roman, with hand-stitched, tailored pleats and crisp folds. In addition, many natural weaves can be fabricated into a more architecturally simple and minimalist roller shade, with or without a valance.

A slect few of our high-end manufacturers also have the unique ability to custom make woven shades for arched windows. a gorgeous design element in a home, but one which can often be a challenge to cover with a window treatment.

Understanding the lingo and choosing a design can often be overwhelming, so we have included photos of many different pleat styles in the below gallery, but our team is always happy to answer your questions or help you decide on a design.

HIGH-END UPGRADES & OPERATION SYSTEMS

For incredible flexibility and control over light, privacy, and your view, our custom woven shades can be operated with a top-down/bottom-up lift system or can be fabricated as a dual shade. In a dual roller shade or Roman shade system, you can mount an unlined woven shade with a blackout rear shade, both housed in a single roller system or headrail. Most of our woven shades can also be automated with ultra-quiet and efficient motors, or operated with a cordless system or standard cord lock.

With incredible customization options including handwoven border trims, exposed modern metal clutches, stationary drop hems, and unique top treatments such as painted bamboo cornices, custom woven shades can be an incredible work of art.
