The Shade Shop meticulously handcrafts draperies in its local Houston workroom. Our full-service shop handles the entire process, from design and fabrication to final installation. We happily work to-the-trade with the Houston design industry, as well as with residential homeowners or business owners and contractors (restaurants, hotels, corporate offices, and more). With the option of selecting a fabric from the extensive selection in our showroom – ranging from sheer to blackout, solids to statement-making patterns, and linens to velvets – you have the artistic ability to create a style that is uniquely yours, while also addressing any lighting and privacy needs.

CUSTOM PLEAT STYLES

Designing custom draperies or curtains can feel overwhelming, given the many customization options available. A perfect starting point is deciding what drapery pleat best suits your style. Ripple Fold draperies are adored by architects and designers for their modern simplicity and relaxed style, while the Pinch Pleat is a perennial classic that provides a more tailored, formal aesthetic and the Goblet Pleat lends a sense of old-world style. From Box Pleat to English Pleat, French Pleat, Unpleated and more, we can design and fabricate exactly what you are envisioning or replicate a drapery style based on an inspiration photo.

DECORATIVE HARDWARE & MOTORIZATION

Custom draperies can glide easily along a low-profile track or decorative rod and can be motorized or manually operated. Our installation team is professionally trained and adept at installing and programming motorized drapery track systems by Somfy, Crestron, and Lutron, making it easy for you to control your curtains easily via a smartphone app or remote control.

We offer an extensive collection of high-end, designer hardware, including rods, rings, finials, tieback holders, and more that range from modern to classic in style. With collections made of solid wood, steel, aluminum, glass, and more and finishes ranging from satin nickel to oil-rubbed bronze, antique white, and beyond, designer hardware can provide distinct finishing touches to your custom draperies.
